Things to look forward to!

I haven’t blogged in ages… but its because I’ve had nothing going on in my life (same as everyone else) except for work.

I finally have some things to look forward to (providing we don’t get a local lockdown). At the beginning of August I’m off to my Mum’s for a week, which I’m super excited for as she lives in Hornsea and there’s a beach, so it’ll be like a much needed holiday.

At the end…

Isolation!

I’ve been wanting to write a blog post for a while but I’ve been struggling for inspiration to be honest, cos all we can talk about at the minute is COVID-19.

It is a very scary and surreal time, and the lockdown is such a huge thing to adapt to. I’m actually still working as I work for the NHS, but I’m going stir crazy at the weekend, and feeling lonely on an evening when Lyra is in bed or…

Who needs bread?

image

I’m not sure whether its a wheat/gluten intolerance, or if its yeast related… but bread screws me up.

It started in 2013, I started getting pain in my left side, and tried various things… but established that cutting down on bread helped it go away.

I reintroduced bread a few years later and was ok for a bit, but then as I ate more and more, it came back with a vengeance. Except now, not…

Home Improvement

I’ve been a little quieter on the blogging front recently, and that’s partly cos I’ve been so busy getting stuff done in the house.

To start with, I finally got central heating fitted. Its amazing having a warm house and instant hot water! Dunno how I managed without it for so long.

The next job was moving Lyra into the spare bedroom. We rewallpapered it with Disney wallpaper, and put…

Lent 2020

Lent is almost upon us again. I always partake in lent, for both religious reasons and personal reasons. I often use it as a chance to look at myself, and sacrifice a vice or two which I feel I’m overindulging in.

I have decided that I’m gonna do the same as I did last year and give up chocolate, cake and biscuits. Its quite difficult as they are my biggest weakness, particularly at work.…

Lone Adult

There’s so much to get used to being the only adult in your house. I’ve been on my own since June, but I’m still not used to it!

First thing, I have to get spiders myself now??? 😭😭😭 I often am a big, brave girl and use a glass and a piece of paper to get them out of the house nowadays… though I’m not gonna lie, sometimes I have to resort to a vacuum cleaner or a shoe.

Another thing… how…

February so far…

February so far…

So the depression I was experiencing in January certainly seems to have simmered down this month. Don’t get me wrong, I still have the odd day where I feel quite low, but this month I’m doing much better.

I think part of the reason for that is that I’m focused on things I want to do in the house to make it better. Finally had central heating fitted last week, and its so good not being able to…
